Young refugees and asylum seekers are amongst the most vulnerable groups of children and young people in care. This is largely due to their experience of war and conflict, as well as adapting to a new environment, usually unable to speak English. This course will enable participants to make a distinction between refugees and asylum seekers, and address the misconceptions that are prevalent.

We are a company that helps people and companies find the right education for their needs through online services, conferences, open days, exhibitions, directories and marketing. In order to participate in the Forums, you may be required to register with us and/or provide us with Personal Data such as your name and email address. Please keep in mind that information you post or make available in Forums will be publicly available. You should not include any personal information or other information of a personal or sensitive nature, whether relating to you or another person, in a Forum post.
Intellectual Holdings offers users the opportunity to participate in Content Offerings on or through the Site. If you desire to participate in a Content Offering, you will be asked to provide us with certain information necessary to conduct such a Content Offering. This information may include, among other things, your name and email address.
If you participate in a Content Offering, we may collect certain user-generated content, such as assignments you submit, peer-graded assignments, and peer grading feedback. We also collect course data, such as responses to in-video quizzes, standalone quizzes, exams, and surveys. You should not include any Personal Data or other information of a personal or sensitive nature, whether relating to you or another person, on assignments, exams, or surveys, except for information required to participate in or submit such assignments, exams, or surveys.
Identity Verification. Intellectual Holdings may offer you the ability to verify your identity for select Services. In order to enrol for these Services, you may be required to provide us or our third-party identity verification vendor with Personal Data such as your name, address, date of birth, a headshot taken using a webcam, and a photo identification document. Additionally, if you apply for financial aid in connection with these Services, you may be required to provide information regarding your income.
Communications with Intellectual Holdings. We may receive Personal Data when you send us an email message or otherwise contact us.
Third Party Sites. We may receive Personal Data when you access or log-in to a third party site, e.g., Facebook, from our Sites. This may include the text and/or images of your Personal Data available from the third party site.
Surveys. We may receive Personal Data when you provide information in response to a survey operated by us or a Content Provider.
Partner sites. Partner sites providing Content Offering-related tools and services to Intellectual Holdings users may collect nonfinancial individual-level user data regarding the individual’s use of that partner site while the partner sites provide those services to Intellectual Holdings. The partner sites may share that data with Intellectual Holdings for the purpose of improving our Services, the partner site’s services, and the individual’s education experience. This data includes information such as the amount of time spent on the partner site and pages viewed.
Third Party Payment Processing. Intellectual Holdings provides you with the ability to pay for Content Offerings and other Services using a credit card or other methods through a third party payment processing service provider. Please note that our service provider – not Intellectual Holdings – collects and processes your financial information.
Information relating to your use of our Site. We use information relating to your use of the Site to build higher quality, more useful Services by performing statistical analyses of the collective characteristics and behaviour of our users, and by measuring demographics and interests regarding specific areas of our Site. Participation in Content Offerings. We use the Personal Data that we collect from you when you participate in a Content Offering through the Site for processing purposes, including but not limited to tracking attendance, progress, and completion of the Content Offerings. We may also share your Personal Data and your performance in a given Content Offering with the instructor or instructors who taught it, with teaching assistants or other individuals designated by the instructor or instructors to assist with the creation, modification, or operation of the Content Offering, and with the Content Provider(s) with which they are affiliated. We may also use the information generated when taking a Content Offering or using the Services for predictive analysis of your performance in the Content Offerings. Identity Verification. For Services that require identity verification, we may use the Personal Data that we collect for verifying your identity, and for authenticating that submissions made on the Site were made by you. This service may be provided through a third-party identity verification vendor. Your photo identification document will be deleted after successful verification of your profile information.
Communications with or from Intellectual Holdings. When you send us an email message or otherwise contact us, we may use the information provided by you to respond to your communication and/or as described in this Privacy Notice. We may also archive this information and/or use it for future communications with you where we are legally entitled to do so. Where we send you emails, we may track the way that you interact with these emails (such as when you open an email or click on a link inside an email). Communications with Intellectual Holdings Business Partners. We may share general course data (including quiz or assignment submissions, grades, and forum discussions), information about your activity on our Site, and demographic data from surveys operated by us with our Content Providers and other business partners so that our Content Providers and other business partners may use the data for research related to online education.
Disclosure to Intellectual Holdings Operations and Maintenance Contractors. We use various service providers, vendors, and contractors (collectively, "Contractors") to assist us in providing our Services to you. Our Contractors may have limited access to your Personal Data in the course of providing their products or services to us, so that we in turn can provide our Services to you. e-Readers. If we receive any Personal Data related to the extent to which you use designated e-Readers or other devices to access Intellectual Holdings materials, we may archive it, and use it for research, business, or other purposes.
Your personal data will not be stored for longer than is necessary with regards to the purposes of the processing. We have internal routines that ensure this and we make sure to delete personal data no later than two years after you have used our services. Some information may need to be stored longer if required by law, for example, the Accounting Act that requires that you save data for seven to eight years.

You have the right to know if we process personal data about you. Intellectual Holdings does not grant academic credit for the completion of Content Offerings. Unless otherwise explicitly indicated by a credit-granting institution,participation in or completion of Content Offerings does not confer any academic credit. Except as described in the Degree, MasterTrack, and University Certificate Programs section below, nothing in these Terms or otherwise with respect to your participation in any Content Offerings by Content Providers:(a) establishes any relationship between you and any Content Provider;(b) enrols or registers you in any Content Provider institution,or in any Content Offering offered by any Content Provider institution;or (c) entitles you to use the resources of any Content Provider institution beyond participation in the Content Offering.
The Services enable you to share your content,such as homework, quizzes, exams, projects,other assignments you submit, posts you make in the forums,and the like ("User Content"), with Intellectual Holdings, instructors,and / or other users. You retain all intellectual property rights in, and are responsible for, the User Content you create and share. User Content does not include course content or other materials made available on or placed on to the Intellectual Holdings platform by or on behalf of Content Providers or their instructors using the Services or Content Offerings. To the extent that you provide User Content,you grant Intellectual Holdings a fully-transferable, royalty-free, perpetual, sublicensable, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to copy, distribute, modify, create derivative works based on, publicly perform, publicly display, and otherwise use the User Content. This licence includes granting Intellectual Holdings the right to authorise Content Providers to use User Content with their registered students,on-campus learners, or other learners independent of the Services. Our Content Providers serve as the distance education providers of these programs and determine admissions,refund,and graduation or completion policies and requirements. Nothing in these Terms shall restrict the applicability to you of any institutional policies established by our Content Provider in connection with these programs (e.g.,student codes of conduct);such policies shall supplement these Terms and to the extent there is a conflict between such policies and these Terms, as between you and our Content Provider, our Content Provider’s policies shall govern.
Depending on the program, tuition and fee payments for these programs may be collected by Intellectual Holdings or our Content Partners. If your payment method fails or your account is past due,we or our Content Partners may collect tuition and fees using other collection mechanisms. Tuition and fees may vary based on your location and other factors,and Intellectual Holdings and its Content Partners reserve the right to change any tuition and fees for future semesters or equivalent payment periods at their sole discretion. Neither you nor Intellectual Holdings may act as a class representative, nor participate as a member of a class of claimants,with respect to any Claim. The Claims may not be arbitrated on a class or representative basis. The arbitrator can decide only your and / or Intellectual Holdings individual Claims. The arbitrator may not consolidate or join the claims of other persons or parties who may be similarly situated. Accordingly, you and we agree that the AAA Supplementary Rules for Class Arbitrations do not apply to our arbitration. This arbitration provision and the procedures applicable to the arbitration contemplated by this provision are governed by the Federal Arbitration Act, notwithstanding any state law that may be applicable.
This arbitration agreement does not preclude you or us from seeking action by federal,state,or local government agencies. You and we also have the right to exercise self-help remedies,such as set-off, or to bring qualifying claims in small claims court so long as the matter remains in such court and advances only on an individual (non-class,non-representative) basis. In addition,you and we retain the right to apply to any court of competent jurisdiction for provisional or ancillary relief,including pre-arbitral attachments or preliminary in junctions, and any such request shall not be deemed incompatible with any of these Terms, nor a waiver of the right to have disputes submitted to arbitration as provided in this provision.
A court may sever any portion of this Binding Arbitration and Class Action Waiver Section that it finds to be unenforceable, except for the prohibitions on any Claim being handled on a class or representative basis, and the remaining portions of this arbitration provision will remain valid and enforceable. No waiver of any provision of this Section will be effective or enforceable unless recorded in a writing signed by the party waiving such a right or requirement.
